Jamborees
Boy Scout Jamborees are a great way to take part in everything that
scouting has to offer. Held at the State and National level, these events are chance for Scouts
to hava whole lot of fun while they explore different career opportunities, take part in team building events and have fun doing
things such as rock climbing, ropes course, skit competitions, cook-offs and a whole host of
activites. The most recent Jamboree was the
2005 National Jamboree
in Virginia.
Our next scheduled large scale event is the New Hampshire Jamboree in the fall of 2007 at Gunstock.

Hike-A-Thon
Sponsored by the Historic Distric, this event is a great way for Scouts to earn money for scouting activies such
as camp. Scouts pledge to walk, run or bike along the 10+ mile route and get sponsors to make donations. 75 % of
all monies raised go to the individual for scouting related events, while the other 25 % goes to the BSA Council for
capital improvements such as Scout camp. This family oriented event is a great way to spend a spring morning.

Conservation Day Pickup
Helping to preserve our environment is one of the most important things we can teach our children. The
Stratham Conservation Day Pick-up is a great way to get out and really make a difference while also setting an example
for others. Last year families from Boy Scout Troop 185 joined dozens of other individuals from Stratham
to pick up litter throughout the town. This will hopefully be a growing annual tradition.
