Troop 185 Events
Troop 185 offers a broad range of events and activities for Scouts of all ages. Past events have included:

Jamborees

Boy Scout Jamborees are a great way to take part in everything that scouting has to offer. Held at the State and National level, these events are chance for Scouts to hava whole lot of fun while they explore different career opportunities, take part in team building events and have fun doing things such as rock climbing, ropes course, skit competitions, cook-offs and a whole host of activites. The most recent Jamboree was the 2005 National Jamboree in Virginia.

Our next scheduled large scale event is the New Hampshire Jamboree in the fall of 2007 at Gunstock.

Hike-A-Thon

Sponsored by the Historic Distric, this event is a great way for Scouts to earn money for scouting activies such as camp. Scouts pledge to walk, run or bike along the 10+ mile route and get sponsors to make donations. 75 % of all monies raised go to the individual for scouting related events, while the other 25 % goes to the BSA Council for capital improvements such as Scout camp. This family oriented event is a great way to spend a spring morning.

Scouting For Food

A great way for Scouts of all ages to be proactive and make a difference to thousands of hungry people who may otherwise go without food. This annual event is held in the fall.

Stratham Memorial Day Parade

Troop 185 takes part in the annual Memoral Day Parade in Stratham.

Stratham Fair

Troop 185 takes part in the annual Stratham Fair, usually held on the last full weekend in July. The Troop has a Lemonade stand where tasty thirst-quenching fresh-squeezed lemonade can be purchased.

Wreath Sales

Troop 185 kicks into the Holiday season by offering sales of fresh Christmas Wreaths the two weekends after Thanskgiving.

Troop 185 Car Show

Troop 185 sponsors a car show at Stratham Hill Park in October. Car enthusiasts from throughout the region take part. From Hot-Rods to Classic Motorcycles, this car show has something for everyone. Click Here for Info !

Conservation Day Pickup

Helping to preserve our environment is one of the most important things we can teach our children. The Stratham Conservation Day Pick-up is a great way to get out and really make a difference while also setting an example for others. Last year families from Boy Scout Troop 185 joined dozens of other individuals from Stratham to pick up litter throughout the town. This will hopefully be a growing annual tradition.

Events are always being added to the Troop Calander. Updates are usually given at the weekly Troop Meetings or you can call your patrol Leader.
